wintzells oyster house

Known far and wide for its "oysters—fried, stewed or nude," Wintzell's Oyster House was founded in 1938 by Oliver Wintzell, and has continued to serve only the freshest Gulf seafood to the public ever since. Mobile was founded 300 years ago, and Wintzell’s roots grew up there starting 80 years ago. Its newest location might have just opened its doors in October a bit inland in Birmingham, but the restaurant still ships up fresh oysters and more three days a week to ensure the same taste the recipes have had in Mobile for decades—plus other Southern fare to go along with it. The new Wintzell’s in the former Freso location in Heights Village is serving up Gulf coast seafood every day 11 a.m.-10 p.m.

Lana Del Rey Spotted Slinging Waffles At Alabama Waffle House

lana del rey alabama waffle house

The reason Del Rey was at the Waffle House remains unclear, leaving fans to speculate on a variety of possibilities. Perhaps the singer is taking notes from Lady Gaga who got behind the Starbucks counter a few years back. Gaga did have a collaboration with the coffee brand, so in hindsight, it feels less random than Del Rey’s stint. But we’d like to see more celebrities cosplaying as service workers, please. Lana Del Rey Spotted Working a Shift at Waffle House after Being Slammed for Weight Gain

One fan posted a selfie with the singer at the Waffle House on Facebook, along with a signed copy of the singer's poetry book, “Violet Bent Backwards Over The Grass." “Just Lana Del Rey working as a waitress at a restaurant,” the caption for lanadelreybr's Instagram post read. Del Rey's Waffle House adventure comes a month after she showed up 30 minutes late to her Glastonbury performance because her hair took too long to get stage-ready. She was later slammed by the hosts of The View for her tardiness, with Whoopi Goldberg saying Del Rey should give fans "$20 back on your ticket" for her poor time management. Despite her surprising appearance at the Waffle House, no one is sure why she’s in Florence, Alabama in the first place.

Blue Ivy joins mom Beyoncé in ‘Lion King’ prequel ‘Mufasa.’ Can you feel the love?

Some of the people have even renamed her "Lana Del Taco." However, Lana's fans have stuck by her side. Lana was cruelly trolled because of her weight when pictures of the singer in a bikini were shared online. The singer, who had taken a break from Twitter, was soon a trending topic when an online user shared her before and after pictures. The singer came into the music industry as Lizzy Grant, but she wasn't successful or popular. She even released an album that sank virtually with no trace.

Taylor Swift Charts 32 Songs on Hot 100, Including Every Track From ‘The Tortured Poets Department’

“Moonlighting as a Waitress at a Waffle House in Florence, Alabama” sounds like it could be the title of pop star Lana Del Rey’s next Americana-infused album. Now, after summer sightings of the singer doing just that, Del Rey has revealed in a recent interview what was actually going on. Fans were angered by Lana's statement, which they considered anti-feminist as they argued a feminist shouldn't be singing songs that praise abuse or about being submissive in relationships. Many of her fans even described the singer as problematic and said they'd "lost respect for her."

In the clip, she appears to tell someone to be careful while filming inside the popular restaurant chain. One fan stopped by the restaurant with a poster from her new album, hoping for a signature. "I just told her how much I loved her music and her work in general. She was super lovely and incredibly nice." No matter the reason for Del Rey’s Alabama trip, we appreciate her versatility. About two weeks ago, she performed in Paris and headlined Glastonbury just a few days prior. The 38-year-old mingled with guests and employees and posed for a handful of photos.

The “Video Games” and “West Coast” singer discusses her buzzy Alabama sightings in an extensive new interview with The Hollywood Reporter’s Mikey O’Connell. The guts of the interview focus on Del Rey’s unique songwriting, prolific recording pace, influence on female popstars like Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo, and her journey from polarizing artist to living legend. Other fans didn't appreciate Lana naming other female artists in her statement just to make a point.

Del Rey has yet to publicly comment on her shift at Waffle House, so it’s not entirely clear why — or how — she got the gig. Her connection to Alabama, though, has at least been documented in song, specifically the track “Paris, Texas” off her most recent album. “She said she knows many people want Oscars, but she wants to be in a Waffle House serving coffee,” Macy Ladner, another fan who got the chance to meet Lana at Waffle House, said. Lana, who released her ninth studio album “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd” in March, typically stays under the radar and doesn’t often post to her Instagram profile, which is set to private. In another batch of photos, the “Summertime Sadness” artist was seen sitting in a booth with Waffle House employees.

Her kindness during her Alabama visit made her even more endearing. By all accounts she came off disarmingly down-to-earth to every normie she met here. AL.com checked in with recording studios in the area, including FAME Studios and Muscle Shoals Sound, to see if Del Rey had been recording there, but confirmed that she was not. Her most recent album, “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd,” dropped in March.

’” Your mom called, and Lana told her to stream Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. According to local news, Rey didn’t seem to be in Alabama working on music. Local recording venues FAME Studios and Muscle Shoals Sound told the website she hadn’t been in recently. Lana Del Rey has been spotted working at a Waffle House in Alabama this week, not long after she posed with a fan at a Birmingham nail salon.

The restaurant is located in Florence, Alabama, a town mentioned in the lyrics to one of the singer's recent tracks. Also this week, Kraft hopped on the recall train for 83,000 boxes of its cheese Singles due to a potential choking hazard. Starbucks is also facing some heat—in the court of law—for allegedly misrepresenting the fruit content of its Refreshers, said content apparently being zero. She was also seen dining at a pizza restaurant in Florence and had been staying at a local Marriott. She was also seen in Birmingham, Ala., about a two-hour drive south.

We’re talking about a woman who wore an $18 Shein dress to a red carpet event and a $35 Target dress to a photo shoot with Rolling Stone, after all. But Del Rey knows better than most that money is the anthem of success and even six Grammy nominations won’t stop you from being put to work. And an empty cup,” she said, clarifying that the cup was “for dip” (chewing tobacco). But now, like the concert-goer who didn’t know that there was a tunnel under Ocean Boulevard, we finally have our answer.

In one photo, the songwriter was seen pouring a customer a hot cup of coffee as her hair was pulled back in a clip. Lana Del Rey has left fans puzzled after she was spotted working a shift at a Waffle House in Florence, Alabama, on Thursday. We love a mysteriously multifaceted pop star, and Lana Del Rey checked another box when seen working a shift (in uniform) at a Waffle House in Alabama on Thursday. The singer is set to perform a sold-out concert Thursday at Huntsville’s Orion Amphitheater, which has brought legends like Stevie Nicks, Robert Plant and Jack White to town since opening last year. Del Rey’s doing a limited run of shows promoting her ninth studio album, “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd,” released earlier this year. Even before those images, there were a string of mysterious Del Rey sightings, including a Birmingham nail salon, interacting with fans in downtown Florence, and shopping at a Russellville boutique.

She also wore a bright yellow name tag that read “Lana.” It’s unclear why Del Rey clocked in for a shift—however, it seems like she was dining at the restaurant and decided she wanted to pitch in. Appearance came a month after Del Rey released her new album, titled Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. Friend and fan Taylor Swift called the new music "extraordinary" when she gave Del Rey a shout-out during a Las Vegas Eras Tour stop in March.

She is scheduled to play at Lollapalooza in Chicago and Outside Lands in San Francisco in August, but has no performances scheduled in the South or surrounding areas. As it turns out, O’connell said, is that Del Rey simply has family ties in the small town (pop. 40,000), is good at making fast friends and just loves hanging at diners. “This guy, a regular, comes in every day and orders two things, so they were like, ‘Just go get it for him! And an empty cup,” she said, miming that the second cup was for the man’s tobacco spit juice. After, the restaurant’s manager, who goes unnamed in the interview, posted a short clip to Facebook, which set off the rumor mill. Lana never apologized for her statements, instead, she tried to defend them and ended up losing more fans and supporters who said the singer just couldn't own up to her mistakes and learn from them.

One of her fans, Karina Cisneros Juarez, took to Facebook to share a selfie with Lana from the Waffle House and gushed over the singer. The reason why Del Rey took on the restaurant shift is unclear. Juarez also told AL.com that Del Rey was “wearing a uniform and everything”. An Alabama resident named Karina Cisneros Juarez shared the experience of meeting Del Rey on Facebook, local website AL.com reported, along with a selfie of the pair together. The 38-year-old del Rey has recently released her new album, “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.” Fans speculated that the Waffle House gig was part of a video in conjunction with the album.

AL.com contacted the two major recording studios in the area, FAME Studios and Muscle Shoals Sound, and learned that she had not booked any sessions at either of them. At first glance, Waffle House #1283 just seems like any other Waffle House. The Florence, Alabama location of the all-day breakfast chain is just down the street from a Jiffy Lube and a car wash, serves its hash browns scattered, smothered, and covered, and hasn’t yet OK-ed online ordering. But this Waffle House is undoubtedly the only Waffle House in America where your All-Star Special could’ve been served by six-time Grammy nominee Lana Del Rey. Del Rey is an idol to millions of fan enamored with her noir-pop songcraft, celestial vocals and legit mystique.

Pair a clear base coat with an evergreen hue for a minimalist design like this one. Use Smith & Cult's Darjeeling Darling ($18) for an elegant, glossy green color. We didn't think it was possible, but tie-dye nails can indeed be holiday-appropriate—that is, if you use a festive combination of colors. And, thanks to the negative space below the tie-dye, you won't be able to notice grow-out quite as much.

Give your French tip nails a luxurious makeup with cherry red tips covered in matte stripes. Manicure minimalists agree that understated micro Frenchies are the move. A pop of vivid red adds just a touch of interest, without going overboard. Nothing is reminiscent of summer like fresh, delicious lemons. This festive blue, yellow, and green mani is almost as good as a freshly-squeezed glass of the good stuff. A twist on classic French tips using misplaced highlights and gold outlines.

This lime-to-mint green ombré mani is a stunning example, complete with a thin silver glitter line at the base to bring the look together. If you prefer to keep your nails long, try this nail design, which highlights almond-shaped nails. To perfect the crisp lines of the triangle base, use striping tape. Best of all, it comes with 30 rolls so you'll have plenty to use for upcoming manicures. K, I promise this cow-print green nail idea is easier to recreate than it looks.

If your mani is the same color as the sky, the sea, or stone (à la Alix Earle’s “stone nails”) you’re totally on trend. Forgo expected nail art in favor of a design focused on the outer perimeter of your nails. Outlining around the nail edge gives your manicure a futuristic dimensional look, but it’s also a surprisingly chic way to highlight elongated almond-shaped nails. Dive into our curate selection of emerald green nails and pick your favorites. Featuring an array of Magpie Beauty polishes, this look has a blend of milky white, dark green, and dark gray as a camouflage-inspired base. Atop, hand-painted white leaves and tiny pieces of gold leaf add the finishing touches.

Mix matching green and blue shades and you will find a sure-fire combo for your beach nail designs. Oftentimes we may think that acrylic powder is unnecessary in our nail art arsenal. You may leave it without top coating, or make it glossy, you choose. Cat eye gel-polishes are so popular because of their simple method of applying. Buy a special magnet stick or pen, and you will be able to create super-easy designs in several minutes.

Over her four-year writing career, Shai consistently delivers content enriched by her distinct blend of knowledge and enthusiasm. Muted greens will remind you of the calm of a damp forest during the fall, while pine greens and evergreens will call to mind the familiar colors of winter festivities. When finished with a matte top coat, the rich depth of emerald makes a stunning statement that’s perfect for both day and night. Others sport a taupe base adorned with vertical green rhinestones or white and green glitter swirls reminiscent of a jeweled garden path. Dive into a manicure where each nail is a unique treasure, some coated in rich green with a single, lustrous gem near the cuticle. Other nails are half clear and half green, split horizontally or vertically.

This contrast between dark green and white with sparkle creates an elegant and attentive image. In the vast universe of nail art, green stands out as a beacon of style, versatility, and sheer beauty. It’s not just a color; it’s a statement—a declaration of individuality and flair. Whether you’re drawn to the soft whispers of pastel greens or the loud, proud shouts of neon, there’s a shade of green that’s waiting to become a part of your signature look.

Lana Del Rey tells story behind her Waffle House shift in Alabama al com

lana del rey alabama waffle house

The singer, originally from New York, was first sighted in Birmingham on Monday at a nail salon. In an interview with Nexstar’s WIAT, 21-year-old Jordan Suttles described his experience with the “Summertime Sadness” singer. Over the years, the singer's political takes, comments, and how she treats her fans have made her lose part of her huge fan base. With her recent appearance while working at an Alabama restaurant, the singer seems to still be making headlines even after her retirement from social media. Lana posed for several photos with fans, though she has yet to offer any further context to the reason behind her impromptu waitressing gig. Lana Del Rey surprised adoring fans when she was seen serving customers at a Waffle House in Alabama on Thursday.

That night, Del Rey made it up to downtown Florence where fans got the chance to take a photo with the six-time Grammy-nominated artist. Though she appeared amused by the experience in the interview, she still doesn’t get why people cared about her impromptu Waffle House internship. “I woke up to, like, 10,000 texts the next morning — some from folks I had not heard from for ten years.

“The music she’ll write about the line cook will bring a tear to your eye,” tweeted yet another fan. And an empty cup,” Del Rey said, adding that the empty cup was for chewing tobacco. According to the star, a casual morning visit to the diner chain turned into an hours-long hangout and snowballed into a viral moment.

Music

They felt like the singer was pulling other female musicians into her drama. One person said Lana was mad because these singers were topping the charts, and she wasn't. More users trolled Lana because she added weight, with some even saying that for them to listen to her music, she would first have to lose weight. "Also Lana del Rey is my favorite artist, but that doesn't mean I have to lie because she really looks bad nowadays," another person noted. The singer is known for her soaring vocals and melodies that have won her millions of fans. Of course, the song doesn’t continue with “Then I worked a shift at the Waffle House, which freaked the hell out of people, and signed some autographs,” so we can’t take it as a one-to-one road map for the Del Rey experience.

The US pop artist, 38, was filmed by a fan behind the counter of the Waffle House making coffee, while wearing a uniform and name tag. On fan forums, some speculated that she might be recording a music video, while others suggested that it could be a publicity stunt for upcoming songs. Others jokingly suggested that she might be exploring a new career path. Regardless, Del Rey appeared to be in good spirits, taking photos with eager fans. She asked one fan if they’d been “choppin’ it up” and even stamped her signature on someone’s vape. It’s unclear why Del Rey is in Alabama, but according to another fan encounter, she’s visiting friends in the state.

Lana, 38, was dressed in the restaurant’s servers’ uniform with a blue collared shirt, a short black skirt, white sneakers and an official big yellow name tag on her chest. Last month, Del Rey’s Glastonbury set was cut short as she was 30 minutes late for her performance. The result ended in five or six of the singer’s best songs being culled, leading to disbelief and even tears among the crowd.

Lana Del Rey spotted working at a waffle house in Alabama

Lana first faced criticism when she changed her stage name together with her appearance. They speculated that Lana has had collagen injections or even plastic surgery. Lana managed to transform herself from an unknown and unsuccessful singer to a famous and successful artist.

Another Instagram post from the same fan account showed a series of photos of the singer in waitress mode — in one she reached for a coffee pot, while another showed her speaking to fans sitting in the restaurant. Del Rey also posed with two fans in other pics, grinning as her custom Waffle House name tag popped in the pictures. But in perhaps the most odd sighting yet, the “Summertime Sadness” singer was seen in social media posts serving customers at Waffle House, clad in a sky-blue uniform. A Twitter user called @honeymounz also shared photos and video of Del Rey working behind the Waffle House counter, refilling a cup of coffee and serving a customer. The New York-born singer/songwriter has been spotted in multiple Alabama cities this week, this time inside a Florence location of the popular restaurant chain, delighting fans with selfies and good vibes.

“Her whispery vocals and auteur production are a clear influence on Gen Z superstar Billie Eilish,” AL.com’s Matt Wake writes. According to Lanaboards.com, the singer was spotted out in Florence while “dining out for pizza.” Wearing a blue mini-dress, denim jacket, sneakers and cool eye makeup, Del Rey posed for selfies with several fans. “Casual day in Florence meeting Lana Del Rey,” fan Macy Ladner posted on Facebook, along with a photo of herself with Del Rey inside the restaurant. The singer’s Waffle House visit went viral after the restaurant’s manager posted a short video clip to Facebook. Selfies fans who’d recognized Del Rey had taken also hit socials.

Fans got an omelette, a side of hash browns and a chance to be served by the popular del Rey on Thursday at a Florence, Alabama Waffle House. Pink and green is a color combo that always seems to make sense, and nail art is no exception. If you're looking for an extra-special manicure, you should definitely try this maximalist look, which features checkerboard, heart, sparkle, flower, and detailed French designs. Given the complexity of this design, we would recommend taking a trip to the salon.

Deep Green

Aura nails typically feature a halo of color on a sheer base, so I'm really enjoying this design that puts the aura look on a black base. It's done on the Sculpted Almond Short ($30) gel tips from Aprés. Glossy sheer nails get a simple yet striking accent with these green lines that travel from the tips of the nails and expand to cover the half moons at the base. Emerald green nails are the epitome of luxury and elegance. The highlight is the matte fruit nail art, with kiwi and watermelon slices bringing a burst of summer’s allure to your fingertips. The remaining nails are coated in matte green, bringing a touch of nature’s beauty to your look.

Pastel Sunset

Almond-shaped nails in gorgeous emerald green single-tone nail polish. You can’t go wrong with a simple and classic look such as this. Plus, you don’t have to go to a nail salon to get this look.

Wear These Green Nail Designs to Your Next High School Reunion, Because They’ll Make Everyone Envious

If negative space isn't your thing, you can add little pops of evergreen nail polish through dots or lines over a light base color, and still get that cool, contrasty effect. Evergreen is also excellent for tie-dye-inspired green looks if you layer it under lighter green shades. The lunula, the visible white half-moon area on every nail, can be a great feature to incorporate in shorter nail designs as it works on everyone. “You can also experiment with reflective glitters or pastel shades,” she adds. Green nails can sometimes look aggressively and non-traditional, but only if a person that wears the nail design wants such an effect. If you like cute and even fun designs, you can choose almost all shades of green for your mani, believe us.

The design merges evergreen, white, and sand dreamily and will look great at any length. This gorgeous marbled gemstone nail look is definitely a show-stopper for this time of year. Sprinkle in some gold polish to really add that extra oomph and sparkle.

Olive green and neutral nails

If you're into a DIY manicure but don't want to sacrifice on the fun nail art, this look couldn't be easier to achieve. After painting your mint green French tips, apply these cherry gemstones ($8) sporadically around your nails, and watch your dream mani come to life. Be sure to finish it off with a glossy top coat to capture the light and achieve a smooth finish. In the Venn diagram (remember those?) of green nails and St. Patrick's Day nails, this green and white swirly manicure is in the middle.

So, have fun picking a green nail design that feels right for you. On long nails, a shiny, semi-transparent pale green design creates an impressive and exquisite look. Light refracts through the sparkle, giving the nails a playful and striking shimmering effect. This combination of transparency and sparkle makes the manicure visually interesting, attracting attention and adding sophistication to your look. It’s important to consider individual preferences, events, and circumstances when choosing green shades for nail design. Minimalism isn’t about having less; it’s about having the right amount.

Minimalist Short Emerald Nails

It’s the color of the grass, it’s the color of the leaves, it’s the color of some crops, but it’s the chicest of them all… Oh yeah, it’s the basil green. In this article, we will talk about all the cool ways you can paint your nails green. Green nails let you show off what you like and how you feel. For your almond nails to shine out, have you ever tried this neon tone of green? Pastel green with french tips is here to show everyone that you have a good taste. Ease into the marble mani trend with this melted green set.

Fruity nail art for summer is always fun — but the fear of the look coming off as juvenile is understandable. "If you're feeling less cutesy, negative space shapes add dimension," Tuttle suggests. Dark green shade of this nail polish would be the perfect choice for the holidays. If you like a simple look, this chrome effect with emerald green color will certainly tick all your boxes. If you’re looking for a nail design that would look great on your natural nails, here’s a design that’s just perfect.

Re-creating a jewel-encrusted manicure is deceptively simple. All you need is a pack of your favorite faux jewels and some nail glue. Paint your nails with a base color, glue on some jewels in asymmetrical patterns, and you're done.

Instead of a single white stripe, it uses mint at the base and tips. And, we don't know about you, but the curving gold stripe down the middle has us so excited for tinsel and treats. This one features a cheery shade of green in an abstract curve shape that you won't be able to stop admiring. We're big fans of this midnight blue and mint manicure courtesy of Paintbox Nail Salon. Try pairing your favorite mint polish with Essie's Booties on Broadway ($12), which is one of our favorite shades of navy blue.

The Olde Pink House Review Historic District North Savannah

Servants smoothly attended to every guest's needs and Mary Clay ensured the food and wine were of the finest quality. News of the Clays' parties often appeared in Savannah's society pages, further elevating the family's social status. Joseph's wife Mary was known as a consummate hostess who masterfully planned lavish dinners, musical evenings, and holiday balls in the mansion's spaces. Guests delighted in dancing the evening away in the grand first floor ballroom or discussing politics and business in the dining room over sumptuous meals. Today, diners can still experience that refined grace as they step inside the Olde Pink House restaurant and enjoy Southern cuisine in spaces that have hosted Savannah society since the city's settlement.

THE OLDE PINK HOUSE IS ONE OF SAVANNAH'S MOST ICONIC & HISTORIC RESTAURANTS

The mansion followed this trajectory when purchased in the 1870s by a consortium establishing a bank. Their tenure left an indelible mark during an important transitional period as Savannah evolved from provincial colony to refined American city. During Clay's tenure as mayor of Savannah from 1805 to 1806, he and his family took up residence in the mansion. As Savannah progressed into the 19th century, the stately Habersham house passed into the hands of prominent political leader Joseph Clay. With their low ceilings, fireplaces, and limited seating, they resemble the type of formal but cozy spaces where Georgia's early aristocracy would have entertained friends for elaborate dinners.

If only the walls could speak of Habersham's grand parties, the Clays' lively gatherings, or the bustle of Victorian bank tellers - all long gone but not forgotten. Through meticulous restoration and devotion to regional cuisine, the restaurant has revived this aristocratic dwelling, allowing modern diners and history aficionados alike to step inside Savannah’s gilded past. Revived, hand-plucked, period pieces curated by the owner herself, Donna Moeckel, fill the walls of The Olde Pink House with the pathos of the South.

IT'S CONSIDERED ONE OF THE FINEST EXAMPLES OF GEORGIAN-STYLE ARCHITECTURE

Among the city’s most iconic historical treasures is the Olde Pink House restaurant, which has borne witness to Savannah society since 1771 within the elegant confines of an 18th century mansion. Set in a colonial mansion, the Olde Pink House restaurant offers Southern charm with a menu to match. Through painstaking technique and time-honored family wisdom, the Olde Pink House kitchen channels history onto every plate. Crisp fried green tomatoes offer another taste of regional delicacies transformed by the Olde Pink House into appetizing works of art. The kitchen’s expertise with these Satisfying coastal classics comes through in every bite. Yet preparation still remains faithful to the way grandmothers and great-grandmothers cooked throughout Savannah’s history.

The Olde Pink House is one of Savannah’s finest dining establishments, offering new Southern cuisine in a sophisticated, yet casual setting. The Olde Pink House is known for specialties like Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Bourbon Molasses, Crispy Scored Flounder with Apricot Shallot Sauce, and Corn Bread Fried Oysters. Pickled watermelon rinds, a tradition rooted in preserving the food you can’t afford to waste, now garnish blackened oysters. Collard greens, the thick, leafy vegetation found and perfected by those who had no alternatives, feature pork scraps to punch up the flavor.

THE HOUSE IS RUMORED TO BE HOME TO A RESIDENT GHOST NAMED JAMES

The throws of Yellow Fever in the 19th century and the COVID-19 pandemic this past year, both of which shuttered doors across the city. When guests savor the cuisine, they take part in the continuing story of Southern food that fills this landmark with legacy. The mansion's parlors and bedrooms now served as guest lodging, losing the elegance of their previous incarnations. The war had taken its toll on Savannah, so operating the old house as a hotel provided much needed accommodations. For over two centuries, the mansion has welcomed Savannah's elite through its doors, from the lavish parties of Habersham's era to the distinguished gentlemen's club operated out of the house in the 19th century.

Dishes like the creamy shrimp and grits or silky she-crab soup allow diners to savor two of the Lowcountry’s quintessential flavors. The Strongs filled the dining rooms with fine antiques and opened the restored cellar as a tavern. Their passion revealed the mansion's beauty once more, while retaining its 18th and 19th century character. With a vision to revive the mansion to its former elegance, the Strongs commissioned meticulous restorations of the original floorplan, doors, windows, and interior details. By the early 20th century, the aging but still-stately former Habersham mansion had passed through many uses and owners.

This practical chapter, though far removed from the structure's original purpose, became an important part of the historic mansion's story and connection to Savannah's past. The banking offices situated upstairs in the former bedrooms, while the ornate dining and drawing rooms of the Clay family became the public-facing spaces for bank transactions. At a time when Savannah society was flourishing, the Clay family used the house to host elegant soirees and entertainments befitting their station. With its pink stucco facade and white ornamental ironwork, the mansion emanates the elegance of 18th century life when it was first erected in 1771 for James Habersham Jr. Standing stately in Reynolds Square, the Olde Pink House restaurant inhabits one of Savannah's finest examples of Georgian-style architecture. The striking pink facade also rendered the mansion instantly recognizable in the local landscape, with the color chosen as a proud nod to Habersham's English heritage.

The food draws from regional tradition, but underneath the surface of fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits lies a storied landmark that has watched over Savannah from Reynolds Square for nearly 250 years. Just as in 1771, the Olde Pink House remains a destination for those who seek to experience Georgian Savannah's splendor. A.lure offers Lowcountry cuisine like shrimp and grits, fried green tomatoes and Lowcountry boil,  in a contemporary, urban setting. The menu draws deeply from traditions and recipes perfected in local kitchens across generations. During this period, the mansion was less a family home or even hotel—it now bustled daily with patrons conducting business transactions and employees obediently working in their offices. The Habersham-Clay mansion led a utilitarian existence for many decades following Savannah's antebellum era. As the Civil War plunged the nation into chaos, the grand house transitioned into more practical uses aligned with tumultuous times. The stately mansion surely felt livelier during the Clay's residency than in its previous incarnation as a more staid family estate for James Habersham Jr. But the Clays upheld the home's refined atmosphere, using its grand spaces as the backdrop for some of Savannah's most memorable early 19th century social events.
